Jamie Trachtman founded Trachtman Law Firm in 2005 after nearly 10 years of practicing law. Prior to forming his own firm, Mr. Trachtman worked in the Raleigh office of Kilpatrick Stockton LLP (n/k/a Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, LLP) and was a partner in the law firm of Harris & Winfield, LLP.
Mr. Trachtman has represented clients in North Carolina state courts, in all three of the Federal Districts located in North Carolina, and in the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also represented clients in the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings, in AAA arbitrations, in NASD arbitrations, and before various North Carolina licensing boards.
Mr. Trachtman received his J.D. from Duke University Law School in 1995. At Duke, he served as the Managing Editor of the Alaska Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Board. He was graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, magna cum laude, in 1990. At Penn, he attended the undergraduate division of the Wharton School of Business where he earned a B.S. in Economics (Finance Concentration).
Before attending law school, Mr. Trachtman worked as a valuation consultant in the Philadelphia office of Coopers & Lybrand, a “Big Six” accounting firm that has since merged with Price Waterhouse to form PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
